Welcome to your new home for health and wellness!

Thank you for taking the time to care for yourself! That is what my practice is all about, taking care of you. I believe in a holistic person-centered approach to healthcare. I welcome all people into my practice without judgement. My first role is as a patient advocate and respecting your wishes for your own and your family's care. I treat all ages, so come one, come all! I practice an integrated mix of traditional and integrative and functional medicine. You probably already know about traditional medicine and have experienced it most of your life. You may be asking, however, what is functional medicine? Functional medicine gets to the root of the problem rather than just treating its symptoms.

Halcyon adjective \hal-see-on\

Definitions: 1. tranquil, peaceful 2. prosperous 3. happy, joyful, carefree

There is an ancient Greek legend about Alcyone, daughter of the wind god Aeolus, and her husband Ceyx, the king of Thessaly. Zeus was angered by Ceyx's bragging and one day while Ceyx was on his boat out to sea Zeus threw a thunderbolt and killed him. Alcyone, in her grief threw herself into the sea and drown. The gods turned the lovers into Kingfisher birds. It is said this is why the kingfisher lays its eggs in a floating nest. Aeolus creates an unusual period of calm seas until after the young have hatched safely. The word halcyon was derived from Alcyone's name and has taken on the meanings of prosperous, happy, calm, and peaceful from this legend.

I adopted this name because in spite of our problems we can achieve prosperity, tranquility and happiness in our lives just like in the legend.
